IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in Indo-American College during 2008 to promote quality enhancement in all aspects of its functioning. Since its inception, it has developed mechanisms and procedures to ensure efficient, effective and progressive performance of academic and administrative tasks and to maintain relevance and quality of the academic programs. IQAC focuses on the enhancement of quality in teaching, learning, evaluation, research, extension and consultancy opportunities.

The IQAC meets periodically to evaluate the progress of the institution and its quality enhancement based on the criteria suggested by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and suggests actions for further strengthening and sustaining the quality. The quality of the academic programmes is ensured through regular monitoring. IQAC focuses on the enhancement of quality in teaching, learning, evaluation, research, extension and consultancy opportunities.

Dr. J.Ezhilarasi, the Principal is the Chairperson of IQAC; Mr.R.Sivarajan, the Vice-Principal its Coordinator; Mr.G.Gopinath, the Head of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics is its Co-coordinator; and the Heads of the Departments are the Members.

IQAC has organized several National Level Workshops/Seminars frequently to promote research potential among staff and students and to discuss pertinent ideas on Higher Education.

  • On 18.02.2010 and 19.02.2010 , IQAC  organized a two-day national level seminar on ‘Higher Education: Strategies to Remedy the Problems Typical to Rural Institutions’. Delegates from all over India addressed the participants from various colleges.
  • On 03.03.2012, the Research wing of IQAC organized a National Level Workshop on Art of Research – A Platform for Research Scholars. Experts from various fields were invited as resource persons.
  • On 25.01.2020, IQAC organized a Faculty Development Programme in association with ‘AAdhi Foundation, Coimbatore’ on Leadership Skills and Effective Teaching: Strategies and Methods.
