The Department of Biochemistry  was established in the year 1998 and was elevated as a PG department in the year 2005. The department offers Research Programmes (M.Phil) from the academic year 2012-2013.The department also offers PG Bioinformatics Course since 2002.

Some of our former students have occupied very high positions in India and abroad in academic and administrative.

The department has brought laurels to the institution by securing University ranks in UG and PG level. The students competent various Government Examination and achieve employment.

The Department has organized several symposia/conferences/seminars sponsored by ICMR and various state agencies. The department also conducts guest lectures, science exhibition and awareness camps frequently to facilitate its interaction of students and faculties to the society.
