Microbiology

Established in 1998, the Department of Microbiology offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Microbiology, a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Applied Microbiology introduced in 2003, and an M.Phil research program launched in 2012. The department specializes in Applied Microbiology, a dynamic field that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases caused by diverse microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses.

Our programs combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications, equipping students to address critical health challenges affecting individuals and communities. The department actively encourages students to organize and participate in intercollegiate meets, national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops, fostering academic excellence and professional growth.
