Commerce

Established in 1998, the Department of Commerce offers a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree designed to provide students with a broad range of managerial skills while also allowing them to specialize in specific areas of business studies. A commerce education opens doors to various career opportunities in corporate sectors, banking, investment banking, financial consulting, accounting, and advisory services.

The department introduced the M.Com program in 2002 and began offering a Research Programme (M.Phil) in 2012 to further deepen students’ expertise and prepare them for advanced roles in the business world.

Students are encouraged to organize and participate in intercollegiate meets, national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops, providing them with exposure to the latest trends and practices in the field of commerce.

  • To develop commerce professionals with deep knowledge, ethical integrity, and critical thinking skills, contributing to individual and societal progress.

  • To provide comprehensive education in commerce that emphasizes real-world application and leadership.
  • To foster analytical and decision-making skills in students for successful careers in business and finance.
  • To inspire students to become ethical, socially responsible leaders.
