Mathematics

Established in 2003, the Department of Mathematics offers an undergraduate program that lays a strong foundation in one of the most enduring and versatile fields of study. Mathematics is essential across a wide range of disciplines, including physical and biological sciences, engineering, information technology, economics, and business.

The department expanded its academic offerings with an M.Sc. in Mathematics introduced in 2012 and an M.Phil. Research Program launched in 2014. These programs equip students with advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world challenges.

Students are actively encouraged to organize and participate in intercollegiate meets, national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops, fostering academic excellence and collaborative learning.

  • To cultivate logical reasoning and analytical skills in students, enabling them to contribute to scientific advancements and societal betterment.

  • To deliver high-quality education in mathematics that builds strong theoretical and practical foundations.
  • To encourage independent thinking and problem-solving skills applicable in diverse fields.
