Youth Red Cross

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is one of the vital wings of the Indian Red Cross Society, specifically focused on college students aged between 18 and 25 years. At Indo-American College, YRC operates under the guidance of Mr. S. Senthil, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, who serves as the Programme Officer. The students, under his mentorship, take responsibility for managing the group’s activities and electing their own office-bearers, fostering leadership and organizational skills.
Objectives of Youth Red Cross
The Youth Red Cross aims to achieve the following objectives among its members:
- Civic Responsibility: Encourage students to understand and accept their civic responsibilities, and act accordingly with humanitarian concern.
- Spirit of Service: Foster the growth and development of a service-oriented mindset among the youth.
- Duty and Dedication: Instill a sense of duty, dedication, and devotion in the minds of young volunteers.
- Promoting Friendliness: Encourage better relationships with all individuals without discrimination.
- Community Service: Promote community service through organized training and educational initiatives.
- Spreading Red Cross Ideals: Disseminate the seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross Movement through activities that reflect the ideals of humanity, impartiality, and voluntary service.
