Selection and Admission
The selection and admission process at Indo-American College is governed by the guidelines provided by the College, the University, and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The following points outline the key aspects of the process:
Selection Process
- Selection is carried out based on the eligibility criteria set by the College, Thiruvalluvar University, and Government regulations.
- The selection process follows the Government’s reservation policies for various categories such as Backward Classes (BC), Backward (Muslim), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Other National Communities (ONC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyars - SCA), and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- The admission card will be sent to candidates who are provisionally selected.
Admission Procedure
- Provisionally selected candidates must pay the prescribed fees by the specified date. Failure to do so will result in automatic cancellation of admission.
- Students who withdraw from the college mid-year are required to pay the full fee for that academic year in order to obtain their certificates from the institution.
- If a student is absent for more than five consecutive days from the date of admission or re-opening (whichever is later), their name will be removed from the Roll/Register.
Important Guidelines
Admission is subject to verification of marks certificates by the Director of Government Examinations. If any certificate is found to be fraudulent, the admission will be canceled, and legal action may be initiated.
Applicants are strongly advised to retain attested photocopies of all credentials for their records. Original documents will not be returned during the course of study.
Redressal of Grievances
In case of any issues or grievances related to admission, students are encouraged to bring them to the notice of the Principal for prompt resolution.
Documents Required for Interview and Admission
- Statement of Marks (Original with 2 attested copies)
- Transfer Certificate (Original)
- Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended (Original)
- Two Passport Size Photographs
- Community Certificate (Original and 1 attested copy)
- Copy of Aadhar Card
- Eligibility Certificate (for students from other universities, issued by Thiruvalluvar University)
- Provisional Certificate (Original and 1 attested copy)
